A Bite, A Snap, and A Hold On To Your Hat!

6 Mar

A few weeks ago two lucky people (read: Darren and I) were invited on a photography expedition with the Balmain Camera Club. But not just any ol’ regular expedition, a harbour cruise with aims to eat gourmet burgers whilst capturing the beautiful Sydney cityscape at night. Oh yea, and we were not supposed to get eaten at Shark Island while doing it.

You can imagine the club’s enthusiasm when we showed up not with flashy SLRs, but with our new and oh so fun iPhones (I have really been missing out!). And, I brought along our handy Cannon party cam to make up for the… err… lack of bulge.

We were surprised when we went to Shark Island, I mean, What A Treat! We were in the middle of the Sydney Harbour, cool wind blowing in our hair, salty sea breeze on our lips and nothing but peace (and the sound of Rihanna gone techno because of the massive party boat adjacent to us). But I like Rihanna, and I like being in the open air. And I absolutely love hanging out with the cool kids who hook you up with nights like this. The only catch… FLESH EATING CATERPILLARS!

Danger Danger!

Darren and Amanda, and a few others, fell victim to their venomous sting. Saying that they are killer may be overstating it, but they definitely have a kick to their bite.

Note: the burn cream expired in 1994

Anyhow… everyone survived and lived to share the pics and stories. And we went home two happy Sydneysiders.
